FSA – new image gallery: “Faces of the dust Bowl”

This selection contains many portraits showing stoic people facing up to the tough times. In an exhibition this size we are going to need to display the diversity of the country.  That means diversity of gender, race, ethnicity, and even locale. I have selected enough images to cover pretty much everything along with a wide selection of locations.

These photos, plus more like them, could be the foundation of a book on the lives of heroic people living through the drought of the Great Depression.

NOTE:  All the photos  have a 2-digit number in front. Use that when referring to them.

New York City Skyline

New York’s striking urban beauty captured in high-contrast, dramatic lights, darks, and color. Tones range from neutral to vibrant palettes. The super high-resolution imagery of this series yields extremely sharp, dynamic cityscapes that can be printed at very large sizes while retaining the quality and sharpness of each photograph. The individual photographs work well together or as stand-alone centerpieces for separate areas. Prints may be ordered as archival paper prints for framing or plexi mounted artwork. Custom sizing brings a bold statement to any interior and allows for flexibility in designing your space.

Most of the prints in this portfolio are available in sizes other than those mentioned.

Central Park Wilderness

Walking through the wooded areas of Central Park it is easy to succumb to the interplay of light and shadow, and find yourself pleasantly intertwined with the composition of the landscape in a remotely mystical way.

The wilderness aspect of the park is no accident. Initially designed and built by Frederick Law Olmstead and Calvert Vaux in the mid to late 1800’s it reflects much of the spirit of the Transendentalist theories of the time. These included the writings of Thoreau and Emerson, as well as the painters of the Hudson River School, all of whom saw the uniqueness of the Eastern Wilderness of the Uniited States as defining the spirit of the national character, and as a source of inspiration for the creative soul.
