Tom Grill has been a professional photographer and artist for over 40 years.

Tom began his career as a photojournalist in Brazil where he taught photography at the University of Brasilia for three years. He returned to New York as a beauty photographer shooting major ad campaigns for L’Oreal, Clairol and Revlon, and went on to develop a thriving assignment career. Meanwhile he continued shooting architectural, scenic, and landscape photography in the United States and around the world.

Specifically in the last 10 years Tom has focused his work on architectural and scenic pictures of New York City. He has created dramatic, high-contrast black and white as well as color photography of the city’s most famous buildings, bridges, and cityscape views. He also consistently shoots aerial photographs of the city from unusual angles and positions in the sky. Using the advantage of dramatic natural light and weather conditions with high speed lenses he captures New York unlike any other artist.

Tom Grill is at the forefront of high resolution digital photography and digital manipulation. He works with Nikon, Sony, and Fuji high res digital systems with the highest quality optics, experimenting with a variety of different cameras and post production techniques to achieve his unique artwork. Many of Tom’s New York City prints combine multiple image files at very high resolution to create ultra-sharp photographs for mural sized prints. The core collection is comprised of many of his greatest New York photographs that can be custom printed and framed at large sizes on a choice of archival pigment papers. His Natural Impressions and Metropolis series use post-production techniques to achieve stunning effects for printed photographic art.

Tom’s graphic style brings a fresh perspective to any art collection and introduces thoughtful contemplation and wonder to interior spaces small and large.
